(Des Moines) State Climatologist Justin Glisan says the Drought continues to expand across Iowa following another week of no rain.
The Latest U.S. Drought Monitor Map shows the more moderate and severe Drought in Eastern and Southern Iowa.
Glisan says the El Nino Advisory remains in effect.
More than 98 percent of Iowa is under Drought or near-drought conditions this week–essentially unchanged from last week. The National Weather Service forecasts widespread rain chances across Iowa through the weekend.
