(Red Oak) A Red Oak woman was arrested for OWI 1st Offense following an accident that occurred on May 24th at the intersection of N Broadway and W Reed Street.
According to the report, 53-year-old Kai Dione Swanson was driving a Ford Edge southbound on N Broadway and tried to turn onto W Reed Street. While doing so, the vehicle struck the curb and became disabled in the 200 block of W Reed Street. The estimated damage to the vehicle was $1,500. There were no injuries. During the accident, officers conducted an investigation into the cause and found that Swanson was intoxicated.
Swanson was arrested today (June 14) after testing results came back from the DCI Lab confirming that she had a blood alcohol content of greater than the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Iowa. Swanson was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and released on her own recognizance.
