(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single-vehicle crash on Saturday.
Dispatch called a Deputy to the accident at around 7:45 a.m. on Saturday on 280th Street near the Guthrie County-Dallas County line. The arriving deputy noted a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup failed to make the curve and struck a utility pole. The deputy found no one at the scene. However, the mother called the sheriff’s office that afternoon, stating her son, 40-year-old Daniel Lyle Rice of Guthrie Center, was driving the pickup. Her son told her he swerved to miss a deer and lost control.
The mother transported Daniel Rice to the Guthrie County Hospital to treat minor injuries.
