(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors approved a $2.9 million contract with Motorola for an emergency communication tower in December 2022, which would also supply 80 radios to all the public entities in the county. The project also includes building a new tower on an excellent spot-on county-owned property in Sharon Township, south of Highway 44.
Audubon County Supervisor Chairman Doug Sorensen says they have encountered problems with Motorola and the courthouse tower.
Sorensen says EMA Coordinator Tyler Thygesen has taken a strong stance, defending the county on this issue.
The project includes radios in school buses, schools, hospital, and fire departments. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2024.
