(Cass Co) Childcare issues were discussed at the Cass County Board of Supervisors meeting this morning.
During the public comment portion of the meeting, Rod Deter said he was at a recent Rotary meeting where Dan Haynes with the YMCA spoke about the childcare shortage and Deter thought about the empty Willow Heights facility.
Supervisors Steve Green and Steve Baier addressed the use of the Willow Heights facility as a childcare facility.
Deter told the board they need start actively pushing toward pulling people together to address the issue. Deter said he knows nothing about childcare, but he would be willing to help facilitate and bring people together. He said he would start reaching out to some individuals to see if they would be interested in starting a committee. Supervisor Wendy Richter noted she would be willing to sit on that committee.
