The Atlantic girls placed 4th in the 2022 state meet in the 4X400. They return to the finals with the 3rd best prelim time. A group of Ava Rush, Mariah Huffman, Chloe Mullenix, and Claire Pellett ran 4:04.18.
Harlan got their mission accomplished in the 4X200 with a championship run from Jacob Birch, Aidan Hall, Cade Sears, and Will Neuharth. They went 1:28.20.
A time of 4:14.14 put Atlantic 6th in the distance medley. The quartet had Hailey Huffman, Nicole Middents, Chloe Mullenix, and Claire Pellett.
A 9th place finish for the CAM boys in the 4X400. They lowered their own school record and missed the finals by two tenths of a second. Jack Follmann, Gavin Clayton, Sam Foreman, and Cale Maas in 3:30.84.
ACGC was 5th in the 4X200 and made the finals of the 4X100. The 4X200 had Brock Littler, Eli Madsen, Lance Bunde, and Austin Kunkle. The 4X100 included Brock Littler, Jedd Weinkoetz, Lance Bunde, and Austin Kunkle.
Nodaway Valley won the first head and ended up with a state runner-up in the 4X200 with Abby Engles, Maddie Weston, Annika Nelson, and Emma Lundy.
Riverside earned a state championship in the 4X200 with a group of Veronica Andrusysyn, Carly Henderson, Elly Henderson, and Lydia Erickson.
Jack Follmann talked with KSOM/KS95.7 Sports after a 6th place finish in the 400M Hurdles. He ran 55.00. It was his second straight year medaling in the 400 Lows.
Lance Bunde had been consistently clearing 6-03 in the high jump late in the season. At state he went ahead and got over the bar 6-05. It put the junior 3rd place in the Class 1A field.
The Riverside girls came into the state meet with the 10th best time in the Distance Medley. The group of Emma Gordon, Olivia Lund, Veronica Schechinger, and Carly Henderson ran a season best time and placed 10th.
