(Griswold) The Audubon baseball team improved to 2-0 on the season with Tuesday’s 14-2 win in five innings at Griswold.
The Wheelers broke things wide open with a seven run frame in the 4th. Colton Hansen led the way at the plate with two-run singles in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th innings.
Evan Alt and Carson Wessel each had two hits. Alt made tremendous diving catch in right field.
Adam Obrecht pitched the win. In his first varsity start the sophomore allowed three hits, three walks, and struck out five.
Griswold’s only runs came in the 3rd inning to close within 7-2. Bode Wyman led off with a single and was driven home on a double by Zane Johnson. Johnson later scored on an error.
Audubon batters combined for 12 hits and drew nine walks. Johnson took the loss on the mound. In three innings he gave up six hits and walked seven. Brayden Lockwood struck out four batters over two relief innings. Lockwood allowed eight hits and two walks.
