(Anita) City Officials in Audubon are moving forward with an ordinance for Inspection and Registration.
The first reading of Ordinance 769 was passed on Monday. The second and third readings were waived. “We are going to enter into an agreement with Region XII to do the inspection. Once we pass that agreement I will put that ordinance in the paper and it will go into effect. What that will mean is for commercial property in town if it is vacant they are going to have to pay a registration fee and an annual fee if it maintains being vacant.”
Elsewhere, City Clerk Joe Foran says the City will be transferring ownership of 917 Broadway to Region XII. “They have a grant program that they are going to be applying for that is going to build a really nice three-bedroom home on the lot there, valued at close to $200,000. That will be a nice addition taking down that dilapidated house and replacing it with that.”
A public hearing for the transfer of ownership is scheduled for May 22nd.
