(Atlantic) The City of Atlantic and some rural residents lost power for about an hour on Monday afternoon, when a contractor a working at the Atlantic Municipal Utilities substation crossed some wires. Atlantic Municipal Utilities General Manager Steve Tjepkes tells KSOM/KS95 News says the main feeder line between the substation on 2nd Street and 22nd Street opened up and dropped all of the circuits feeding the town.
The power went out at around 4:00 p.m., and came back on at just before 5:00 p.m.
