(Audubon) On Monday night the Audubon School Board approved a teacher salary settlement and salaries for staff not included in bargaining unit.
Superintendent Eric Trager says a 3.62% increase has been agreed upon for teacher salaries. “We made a commitment last year to try to move teacher salaries higher to help with recruitment and retention of teaching staff. We felt like we got ahead of the curve on that. This year a lot of districts are settling higher than where we settled, but we got a jump on it last year with the larger settlement.”
The remaining staff will have an average raise of about 4.5%. “With the current job market, hiring climate, inflation, and all the things going on right now we just talked as a board about the importance of getting those hourly rates up. We hope we can maintain a competitive and attractive salary to recruit people to work for the district.”
The board also approved the FY24 School Calendar. August 23rd is the first day of school. The calendar includes full week for spring break next school year. The last day of school is May 24th.
