(Council Bluffs) An Iowa DNR partnership is offering trees at a discounted price.
Thanks to the Pottawattamie County Conservation Board and USDA Forest Service, a mixture of hardwoods, low-growing ornamental, and evergreen tree species are available. Bryan Hayes with the Iowa DNR says, “These are 5-7 foot potted trees. $30 apiece and you can buy up to two. They have a pick up time scheduled for April 29th at 8:00 a.m. It’s an opportunity to plant some shade trees at a really reasonable rate.”
Iowa residents can purchase trees and pick them up at Harrah’s Casino. A total of 300 trees are available from the Pottawattamie County Conservation Board.
Additionally, Alliant Energy customers can purchase up to two trees for $25 each. Pick up locations include Iowa Falls, Central City, Osceola, and Mason City.
