(Atlantic) Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa is March 27-31.
Cass County Emergency Management Director Mike Kennon, speaking at the Atlantic City Council Meeting Wednesday, said as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week he encourages everyone to participate in the statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m.
Kennon said they will set off the sirens as part of the Tornado Drill on March 29th. He also noted that they are planning to set the sirens off this Friday at noon, weather permitting.
Kennon encourages everyone to sign up for the Alert Iowa notification system. He said this system is used for weather alerts and all types of public safety messages.
Kennon said you can sign up for the types of alerts you would like to receive and what locations you would like the get notifications for.
And, Kennon said Cass County is hosting a National Weather Service Storm Spotter Training Class on April 12th at 7:00 p.m.
