(Des Moines) A Wind Advisory is in effect from 4:00 p.m. this afternoon to 4:00 a.m. Friday for all of southwest Iowa.
Northwest winds will be 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Low visibility in falling snow may briefly occur in the advisory area this afternoon and evening as the rain changes to snow.
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
