Iowa Sen. Quirmbach Calls Formula Calculation Error “Cover-up”

(Des Moines) Iowa Democratic Senator Herman Quirmbach says the property tax formula calculation error that will force more than 600 cities to rethink their budgets is a cover-up by the executive branch. Republican Senator Dan Dawson dismissed the cover-up idea, saying the executive branch proposed the bill. The bill, which would save property owners hundreds of dollars more in taxes, is ready for debate in the Senate.
