(Carroll Co) One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Carroll County this morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says 29-year-old James Stovall, of Mobile, Alabama, died following the accident that occurred on Highway 141/330th Street at 5:50 a.m. 34-year-old Derek Pittenger, of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, was transported to St Anthony Hospital in Carroll, by Carroll County EMS.
James Stovall was driving a 2016 Chevy Tahoe westbound and Derek Pittenger was driving a 2023 International LT625 semi eastbound. Stovall went left of center and collided with the semi in the eastbound lane. The Tahoe then struck the cable barriers on the north shoulder where it came to rest. The semi came to rest in the south ditch.
