(Ridgefield Park, NJ) — Samsung is recalling almost 640-thousand washing machines. The recall involves 14 top-loading models and is due to units that can short circuit and overheat. The washers were sold between June of last year and December of this year. Samsung said more than 50 reports have been received about the washers involving “smoking, melting, overheating or fire.” A software update has been released to fix the issue.
