(Atlantic) Four longtime leaders of the Atlantic Boy Scouts are stepping away from their leadership roles. Dave and Karen Miller, Melissa Ihnen, and Bernice Baier helped lead roughly 50 Eagle Scouts through the program.
Karen and Dave Miller say it has been a pleasure leading the scouts. She said it started long ago when her son came home from school and wanted to be in the scouts. Karen and her husband, Dave, also saw their grandsons through the program.
Melissa Ihnen tells the same story. It started with her son and led to many more years as a scout leader. She has been a registered leader for 23 years.
A reception is planned for the four longtime leaders from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Elks Lodge on Sunday, December 18. All former scouts and Eagle Scouts are invited to attend.
