(Leon) The investigation continues with a burnt vehicle and a deceased person found nearby in Decatur County.
According to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, at around 4:28. p.m., deputies responded to a call of a burnt vehicle with a deceased person near it in a field three or four miles east of Leon.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office requested additional assistance from Iowa DCI, State Patrol, and DNR. Neither the vehicle nor the victim could be immediately identified.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office has contacted surrounding agencies inquiring about missing person reports. This case remains under investigation and is pending autopsy results.
