(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors are back to square one when it comes to an IT Director.
New hire Brennan Schulte began duties in Audubon County earlier this month, but has now returned to his former employer. “It was kind of some bad news for us. We have to kind of start all over. I don’t want to say anything bad about him. He is a very bright individual. I thought he was doing fine. I tried to convince him to stay on, but he was offered to come back to his old position. He felt a little overwhelmed where he was with so much to learn, so he felt more comfortable going back to his old position.”
Supervisor’s Chairman Doug Sorensen points out there has already been significant interest within just a few hours of the opening being posted. “We are off and running trying to hire again. I think it will go better this time. I just feel like it will. I think we’ll have more interest because this thing has been out there and some people maybe have been wishing they had applied. So I think we’ll hire somebody a little quicker than we did the first time.”
Heartland Business Systems will continue to assist the county with their IT needs. “We are in a lot better position than we were a couple of months ago. We have Heartland Business Systems providing IT remotely as needed and they have one person on site every Friday. They are a very smart, very confident individual. They are taking care of our needs in the near term.”
Sorensen says their is no deadline application for the vacancy as the board will continue to look for candidates until finding a suitable hire.
