High School Football season kicks off with Week 0 contests

(Area) Competition in high school football gets underway this week. While the majority of teams will be opening their season next Friday night, a handful of area squads will get an early crack at games.

Lewis Central hosts Underwood for a Week 0 matchup on Thursday.

Friday’s slate includes Panorama at Perry, SC East at Glenwood, Ballard at Winterset, and SC West at Thomas Jefferson.

KSOM will air Audubon’s matchup against Winfield-Mount Union on Saturday. A live video stream will be available at WesternIowaToday.com. Saturday’s game kicks off at 2:00 p.m. from Martensdale-St. Marys.
