(Guthrie Co) The new Guthrie County Jail facility project was discussed at the board of supervisors meeting Tuesday morning.
Guthrie County Board Chairman Mike Dickson and Sheriff Marty Arganbright expressed their frustration with the way the windows were designed which has the wrong type of glass, allowing people to see inside of the jail cells and other areas.
Dickson said different alternatives of glass are being looked at, but right now they don’t know how this issue will be fixed.
Another issue is the floor.
Dickson said they will be sending letters out to all of the contractors and taking legal action against them if needed.
The board received a couple of pay apps for some plumbing fixtures and the board decided to hold off on paying those since those fixtures were not spelled out in the specs on the bids.
Voters passed an $8.7 million bond issue in March of 2020 to build a new Sheriff’s Office and Jail addition to the courthouse. A groundbreaking was held in the fall of 2020 and work continues on the facility.
