(Atlantic) As members of the Atlantic High School Class of 2022 get set to start their next chapter in life they do so backed by 70 scholarships from the Atlantic School Foundation totaling $102,600.
Superintendent Steve Barber thanks the organization for their support. “They go unnoticed, but what a group of dedicated folks. We are very fortunate in Atlantic to have the Atlantic School Foundation and the only way that can be positive is people donating to that foundation.”
The Atlantic School Foundation has also backed a number of different school endeavors. Most recently was a donation this week of $10,000 for the implementation of new math curriculum. “They also granted Terry Hinzmann $8,000 to have a female symposium a few years ago. They donated $7,244 for one of our Industrial Tech teachers Noah Widrowicz for some shop equipment and work benches.”
Additional contributions include and taking care of the costs association with obtaining the musical rights to the Sponge Bob Musical. “They help in so many ways. Not only through scholarships, but also in regards to requests. Many of the field trips are sponsored by the Atlantic School Foundation. They contributed to the digital trophy. They just wrote a check for approximately $120,000 last year to build the green house. They are a great group, can’t do it without the donors. What a dedicated group that meets four times a year and really helps the school in many ways.”
Barber says if a request fits within the Atlantic School Foundation mission and their funds available they are going to award it.
