(Audubon) The Audubon City Council approved two purchases for equipment by the fire department during a meeting on Monday.
$40,458 of ARPA funds were used to obtain 40 sets of rescue gloves and wildland extrication clothing. The rest of the new equipment comes from the general fund. From the general fund $160,332 went to new helmets, hoods, gloves, pants, boots, and coats.
In other activity, according to City Clerk Joe Foran the first reading was passed for an ordinance to run the intersection of Third Avenue and Southside Avenue into a four way stop. “Right now on one side there is a stop and three yields. Once it takes effect would be a four way stop at that intersection. They had the first reading and will probably have two more meetings before it takes effect.”
Elsewhere, a public hearing has been set during their August meeting to transfer property at 701 S Division Street to Audubon County Economic Development.
