(Atlantic) A trial date has been set for an Atlantic man arrested in connection with a house fire and stabbing.
According to court records, the trial for Anthony Asay will be held July 12th at 9:30 a.m. Arraignment is June 6th with a Pre Trial Conference on July 11th.
Asay was charged with Arson 1st Degree, Attempted Murder and Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness in connection with a house fire at 106 Cedar Street on May 4th. The next day, Asay was charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Interference with Official Acts. The charges stem from a stabbing on Cedar Street. Asay was taken into custody at 1207 Birch Street in Atlantic. During the apprehension, he was uncooperative and resisted Officers.
In addition to these charges, Asay was also charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness for an incident that occurred on April 30th.
