(Audubon) In 2021 a Human Science specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach said over 43.5 million family caregivers in America provided a vast array of services daily or intermittent. These caregivers provide a long list of emotional, financial, nursing, social, homemaking, and other daily or periodic services.
Emily Winker, a Service Specialist for Elderbridge Agency on Aging, says family caregivers have an extremely stressful job. She says the over 43.5 million across the nation will climb as people choose to stay home rather than go to a nursing home.
The Elderbridge Agency hosts a caregiver appreciation event on Friday, June 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Audubon Rec. Center.
Winker says the family caregivers will enjoy a restful and relaxing day, indulging in chair massages, mini manicures, Tai Chi exercises, and lunch, all at no charge. Attendees will receive a gif basket and a chance to win other prizes.
