(Atl(Atlantic) Lane Nelson medaled to lead Atlantic over Harlan 178-187 in a boy’s golf dual at Harlan on Tuesday.
Nelson carded a 41, Garrett McLaren, 44, Roth Den Beste, 46, and Tristan Hayes shot a 47 to account for the team score. Cruz Weaver scored a 48 and Tate Niklasen shot a 49.
Atlantic Head Coach Ed Den Beste says, “We knew this would be a good test for our boys because of the length of the Harlan course. It’s tough to make birdies. Lane continues to play well, Garrett had a couple of tough holes but otherwise scored alright. Good to see Roth shoot a good round today. Tristan and Cruz had to work hard to keep their scores down, and Tate had a solid match, but I am sure he would like to replay one hole over again. Great win on an away course. ”
The Atlantic JV defeated Harlan 219-220. Trevan Hansen shot a 49, Cooper Jipsen and Chris Keegan carded 52, and Colton Becker finished with a 66.
