(Anita) A straw poll taken at last week’s CAM Community Engagement Meeting resulted in a split between two options on the school district’s major renovation upgrade plan.
CAM Schools Superintendent Paul Croghan says 125 people attended the fifth public meeting last week, and another 65 attended virtually. The meeting dealt with facility options, finances, ways to protect the general fund, and how to provide programs.
Croghan says the two options under consideration are; a K-6th grade elementary school in Massena and a 7th through the 12th-grade facility in Anita. The other option is; elementary facilities in both Massena and Anita, and the 7th through 12th-grade students in Anita, as a junior high/high school.
Croghan says the goal is to decide on one option and move forward with a general obligation bond. The next community engagement meeting is tentatively planned for some time in early August. The goal is to have a bond issue election in November or March.
