(Atlantic) The opening of the Atlantic Municipal Swimming Pool has been pushed back.
The pool, originally scheduled to open on Monday, June 7, is leaking water. Atlantic Parks and Recreation Director Bryant Rasmussen say the pool is losing about two to three inches of water per day. “We could open and be fully functional, but we would be pumping in 60-degree water each day,” explained Rasmussen. “We would also have to play around with the chemicals to keep it balanced to stay open. One minor thing could lead to bigger issues down the road.”
Rasmussen contacted pool representatives from ACCO to see if they can get a quick fix and get the pool open for the rest of the summer.
