(Oakland) Riverside is coming off of a 2nd place finish at their home meet and now the Lady Dawgs head to Avoca for AHSTW’s Co-Ed Meet.
Head coach Jared Hoffman says overall he was happy with the way they ran on Tuesday, but admits they are still trying to get the kinks out after having a year away. “It’s interesting for us. We moved some girls around. I had Mackenzie Olmstead do a 4X800 and she ran real well in that and then she did 400M Hurdles and she’d done neither of those before. I was pretty impressed with that. We are just finding out with these freshmen and sophomores where they can be on relays. They are excited and working hard and that’s really good for us.”
Hoffman was asked what he wants his team to get out of Thursday’s meet at AHSTW. “Just continue to improve on times. The weather looks iffy, but if we get some races in continue to improve and get in better shape. We have a lot of season left. We kind of want to push for our 4X100 getting their time down for the possibility of Drake, but our end goal is always state and scoring points.”
Teams listed to attend today include Audubon, East Mills, Exira-EHK, Fremont-Mills, Grand View Christian, Griswold, Iowa School for the Deaf, Riverside, and AHSTW.
