(Stuart) West Central Valley/Nodaway Valley girls soccer coach Michael Krawczyk says expectations are good this season despite not having a season in 2020 due to COVID.
The Valley Girls went 9-7 in 2019 and lost five seniors from last year. Coach Krawczyk says, “We have a team that has a good mix of upper classmen and lower classmen that work well together, which should help us go deep in the post season.”
Eight varsity players are back and there are 29 total team members. “We should be good on offense as we will have a good mix of experienced girls with lots of speed and good knowledge of the game.” Krawczyk says, “We have a great forward in Madelyn Jaeger with good speed and skill. Our midfielders will be tested as they are on the young side with Bella Munoz, Kinsey Alt, and Emilee Sargent, but with the leadership of senior Macy Kuhns our midfielders should be solid.
They’ll have have a mix of experienced players at defensive midfield with Isabella Rubio, Sabrina Becker, Bethany Speichinger, and Hope Kading. Three of their four full backs return, with Brooklyn Jackson, Halley Joel, Abigail Balsmeier to be joined by newcomer Avery Hazen. Returning starter Chloie Otto is one of four goalies on the squad.
