(Red Oak) Red Oak City Administrator Brad Wright and the City are continuing their aggressive stance when it comes to cleaning up abandoned and/or dangerous buildings in the community.
The recently applied for demolition funds through SWIPCO to tear down the properties at 104 and 106 E. Corning Street.
“SWIPCO has a program that provides 50-percent of the funding for demolition,” said Wright. “We’re using these funds to tear down these two properties, and we have some other properties were want to clean-up and place into the hands of private owners.”
The City sold two adjoining properties to an individual with plans to fix them up. Wright says this is the best-case scenario when cleaning up this type of real estate.
