(Griswold) Griswold shared Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs discussed changes to the school’s Veterans Day program at Monday’s School Board meeting.
Henrichs says the district’s return-to-learn plan states activities would be a case-by-case basis. The plan went into effect July 1 and is in effect through the end of the school year. “Veterans Day is a traditional and honored event here at Griswold,” stated Henrichs. “However, at the same time, there is a concern about bringing in a large number of people, plus the likelihood of some of the attendees being in that “most vulnerable” category for COVID-19. But at the same time, we want to honor these people.”
The board agreed it’s probably not the right time to hold such a large event such as this. However, they still want to do something. The board granted the group in charge of this event the authority to come up with some alternative activities.
