(Atlantic) U.S. Senator Joni Ernst spoke at a campaign event at the Community Center in Atlantic Friday evening.
Ernst said a lot of people have been asking about this election cycle and why the mood is so different out there.
Ernst said the way she likes to look at it is like when she is out on a ride on her motorcycle; she is going to evaluate what is the road that is right for her to be on.
Joni Ernst said we are faced with some tough times right now and she said you have to get out and face those challenges and show leadership. Ernst makes a visit to each of Iowa’s 99 counties each year and she questioned why her opponent, Democrat Theresa Greenfield, hasn’t been doing the same.
Ernst said during that same time period she did a tour and a half of the 99 counties.
Ernst also stated that that she works in a bipartisan fashion. She said Georgetown University actually ranked her as one of the most bipartisan Senators of any state, of either party, in the last 25 years.
Senator Joni Ernst is a native of Red Oak, Iowa. In November 2014, Joni was elected as the first woman to serve in federal elected office from the State of Iowa and also became the first female combat veteran elected to serve in the United States Senate.
