(Creston) A Creston man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Union County.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Highway 34 and Old Highway 34. Authorities say 75-year old Lawrence Charles Shimono, of Creston, was hurt in the crash.
According to the report, an eastbound 2018 Ford Escape driven by Shimono slowed to turn onto Old Highway 34. Marvin Ray Baker, driving a 2015 Ford pickup tried to go around the slowing vehicle, but struck the rear of Shimono‘s vehicle to avoid an oncoming car. The impact caused the Shimono to enter the ditch and roll ending up on its wheels.
Shimono was taken by ambulance to the Greater Regional Hospital in Creston.
