(Audubon) An update from NextEra Energy was heard by the Audubon County Board of Supervisors at their meeting this week.
The exact route of the transmission line in Audubon and Guthrie Counties isn’t entirely set, but progress is being made. “They told us that about 95% of the voluntary easements were done which is always important, it’s nice to have it voluntary. That’s the way they are presuming it’s all going to go, so that’s good.”
Supervisor’s Chairman Rick Thompson says all of the wind towers are secured. “This is just for the transmission line itself. All of the wind turbines are secured and it’s just a matter of time doing the paper work and I believe those are all done. This is just the finishing touches on the transmission line.” The transmission line will stretch 40 miles.
