(Atlantic) Atlantic Firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire at 311 Cedar Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Atlantic Fire Chief Tom Cappel says the call went out at 1:15 p.m. “We had a working fire in the house upon arrival,” said Cappel. “Heavy smoke and flames were coming out of the south side of the house, and heavy smoke was billowing out from underneath the gutters. We knocked it down with water and some roof ventilation.”
Cappel says no one was living in the home, and there is no gas or electricity running to it. The cause is under investigation.
Atlantic Police, Cass County EMS, and Cass County Emergency Management Director Mike Kennon assisted the Atlantic Fire Department at the scene.
