(Sidney) Firefighters responded to a house fire in Sidney early Sunday morning.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says the call went out at 2:58 a.m. in the 1000 block of Filmore Street.
The owner was not home. Witnesses observed smoke coming from the residence and attempted to rescue the animals inside. However, two dogs died from smoke inhalation.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Sidney Fire and Rescue, Hamburg Fire, Riverton Fire, and the Tabor Fire Department were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
