(Audubon) An agreement has been reached between the Emergency Management Office and Secondary Roads Department in Audubon County to replace street signs and residential markers.
The Audubon County Supervisors signed off on the deal during their weekly meeting. Emergency Management Coordinator Phil Mennenoh admits there was a gap between his predecessor and when he took office. “911 signs weren’t getting put in and state signs weren’t being replaced and put up. It’s very hard for a one person operation like me being the Emergency Manager to get out there and do the signs. I just don’t have the time and especially with this pandemic, it took all my time.”
So Mennenoh will order the replacement signs and Secondary Roads will install them. “To get this done Audubon County Secondary Roads and Mitch Rydl were kind enough to help us out with their sign guy. So we drew up what they call a 28E Agreement. “Under the agreement Mennenoh will re-imburse the county sign shop for their time putting in the signs.
Mennenoh says some signs were damaged, faded, or missing all together. They hope to get them all in this fall. If anyone needs a sign replaced they can call 712-563-3483.
