(Washington D.C.) — Election security has been an issue in the forefront of US politics recently. Today (Monday) the US Supreme Court voted 5-4 to uphold a Mississippi law allowing ballots to be counted and included in final results even being received after election day with Justice Amy Coney Barrett joining the majority and writing the decision. Iowa Congresswoman in the 2nd District and US Senate candidate Ashley Hinson told KSOM/KS 95 news that states have to have credibility in their election results
Along those lines, Hinson voted for the SAVE America Act which passed the House but is bogged down in the Senate. Hinson says that Iowa has taken the lead in safe and secure elections
Hinson says states like California need to shore up their election laws after spending 35 days after a recent election counting ballots.
Hinson is running for the US Senate in Iowa for the spot vacated by Joni Ernst — her opponent in this November election is Democrat Josh Turek.
