(Guthrie Center) Two 15-year-old males are facing charges following an investigation into threats made against the AC-GC student body and the high school principal at AC-GC High School.
According to a press release, the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to AC-GC High School on March 2 at approximately 8:15 a.m. regarding threats that were allegedly made during school hours the previous Friday. The threats were not reported to the AC-GC School District until around 8:00 a.m. Monday.
The two juveniles are charged with Threat of Terrorism and are being transferred to a juvenile detention center. Authorities initially could not locate the suspects and believed they were outside of Guthrie County or near the Ankeny area. At approximately 1:00 p.m. Monday, both juveniles arrived at the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office but refused to speak with law enforcement.
The Sheriff’s Office maintained a physical presence at the high school throughout the school day and remained in constant communication with AC-GC High School staff and administration.
Officials stated that at no point was there an active threat. The investigation into the alleged threats is ongoing as authorities work to substantiate the claims.
