(Lubbock, TX) — Number 16 ranked Texas Tech stormed out in front and held off #4 ranked Iowa St. 82-73 in a Big 12 men’s basketball game on Saturday.
The Cyclones led 14-13 but the Red Raiders went on a 20-2 run to build a 33-16 lead. Milan Momcilovic ended the run with an 11 foot step back jumper and ISU got the lead down to 12 but Donovan Atwell hit a three pointer for Tech and they led 45-29 at the half. ISU was never able to get the lead under double digits in the 2nd half.
Iowa St. (24-5, 11-5) was led by Joshua Jefferson with 22 points including 8-10 from the free throw line; Momcilovic had 20 points including 5-9 on his threes; Tamin Lipsey added 13.
Texas Tech (22-7, 12-4) had six players in double figures led by Donovan Atwell with 18 points.
