Atlantic Eighth and Riverside Ninth at Bob Sharp Girl’s Invitational: Armstrong Wins Title at 235 for Atlantic

(Ankeny) Atlantic placed two wrestlers in the championship, and came away with one title at the Bob Sharp girls’ Invitational Wrestling Tournament at Ankeny on Friday night. Six Riverside wrestlers earned medals, and three from Griswold brought home some hardware.

Atlantic finished eighth in the team standings with 88.5 points. Riverside finished in ninth with 87.0, and Griswold finished in 13th place with ten points.

Haley Armstrong (235) improved her record to (32-0) and pinned Aysia Moser of Ankeny in 35 seconds in the finals. Leiah Thomas (155) finished runner-up. The other medal winners for the Trojans were Cadence Kinzie (115), fourth, Josephine Miller (170), fifth, Willow Dake (125), sixth, Aspen Smith (110), and Olivia Knuth (135), who both finished in seventh place.

For Riverside, McKenna Dorr (145) finished in second place, Rylie Price (155) finished third, Jersey Hilgenberg (100) finished third, and Hailey Harvey (115) finished third. Sarah Cody (130) and Hannah Marsh (140) finished seventh.

Griswold had three medalists, all finishing eighth, including Abbi Henderson (170), Addalyn Phelps (235), and Brianna Dofner (115).
