(Atlantic) Atlantic and Harlan matchup for the first time this season in a Hawkeye Ten Conference girls’ basketball game. The Trojans enter the contest with a 6-7 record. Harlan carries a 4-6 mark to the game on Friday night.
Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says the Cyclones are coming off a 55-52 win over Glenwood last Tuesday night. Vargason says Harlan handled the Rams’ pressure defense, limited Glenwood’s inside game, and played well offensively.
Brinley Van Baale is playing well, averaging 10.60 points per game. Addison Wicks is averaging 6.80 points per game and shooting 40 percent from behind the three-point line. Vargason says the Cyclones will mix things up on the defensive end.
The inside presence for Atlantic has been solid as of late with Katrina Williams and Brynn Lamp.
Williams is averaging 9.62 points per game and 8.2 rebounds. Lamp is averaging 3.77 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per contest. Meanwhile, the Trojans’ perimeter shooters, including Makenna Schroeder, averaging 8.54 points, and Zoey Kirchhoff, are averaging 8.69.
We will have the broadcast on KS 95.7 and live-stream it on westerniowatoday.com TV and YouTube.
