(Afton) The Atlantic High School archery team earned runner-up finishes in both the Bullseye and 3D competitions at East Union’s First Annual Dick Stream Memorial Tournament.
In the Bullseye event, Nodaway Valley claimed the team title with a score of 3,309. Atlantic followed closely with 3,296, while East Union placed third at 3,099. Creston finished with 3,058, Chariton scored 3,021, Christian Home Educators posted 2,981, and Murray Community Schools recorded 2,922.
Individually, Grant Petty led Atlantic with a score of 288, placing third overall and second in the boy’s division. Madeline Blake shot a 282, earning eighth overall and second place in the high school girl’s division. Elynor Brummer recorded a 280 to finish fifth in the girl’s division, while Michael Hocamp scored 279 for ninth place in the boys division. Lily Willrich rounded out Atlantic’s top performers with a 278, good for sixth in the high school girl’s division.
Nodaway Valley captured the team title in the 3D competition with a score of 1,665. Atlantic placed second with a 1,574, followed by Murray at 1,546, Creston with 1,521, and Christian Home Educators with 1,402.
Atlantic had several strong individual performances. Madeline Blake led the way with a score of 285, finishing third overall and second in the girl’s division. Grant Petty followed with a 281 to place fifth overall and second in the high school boys division. Lily Johnson shot a 278, earning ninth overall and fourth in the high school girl’s division. Hunter Quist finished 10th overall with a score of 276 and placed fifth in the high school boys division. Elynor Brummer recorded a 271 for 11th overall and fifth in the girl’s division, while Michael Hocamp scored 266 to finish ninth in the boy’s division.
The Atlantic Middle School finished fifth in Bullseye with a score of 2967. Alicia Juhl finished as the top scorer for Atlantic with a 265 which earned eighth place in the Middle School Girl’s Division.
The Atlantic Middle School archery team finished third in the 3D tournament with a team score of 1,545.
Individually, Alicia Juhl led Atlantic with a score of 263 to place second in the girl’s division. Colin O’Donnell finished eighth in the boys division with a 253, followed closely by Nolan Sunderman, who placed ninth with a score of 252. Lucy Northwick rounded out the Atlantic results, placing 10th in the girl’s division with a score of 245.
