(Harlan, IA) — The jury is still out on the Harlan Boys Basketball team and what their season will look like. The Cyclones are 3-3 under first year Head Coach Dean Mosher. Wins over Shenandoah, Creston and Denison Schleswig with a loss to conference favorite Kuemper Catholic but back to back losses to end December against Glenwood and Red Oak leave things uncertain. Senior Dallas McDowell is leading the way at 16.3 ppg but Senior Kobe Klaassen has struggled somewhat at 9.4 ppg with just a 22 percent rate in three pointers. Mosher says he has been a little unlucky so far this season
Sophomore Kreed Boggess has picked up some of the slack — he only made 6 total baskets last year and had 26 total points but this season is 2nd on the team with 19 made field goals and is averaging 9.5 ppg including 11-30 from three point land
Meanwhile, 6 games in as the head coach and Mosher says it is still a learning process
Harlan’s first game back in the new year is on Tuesday, January 6th against Lewis Central.
