(Mapleton) One person died in a two-vehicle crash in Monona County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 7:41 p.m. on Thursday on 130th Street and Walnut Avenue. Authorities say 75-year-old Rosemary Barber, of Mapleton, died from injuries in the crash. Mapleton Fire and Rescue transported Barber to Burgess-Hospital in Onawa, where she was pronounced deceased.
According to the report, a 2013 Ford Escape driven by Barber was attempting to turn around in the roadway, to proceed westbound, and was struck on the driver’s side by a 2018 GMC Sierra pickup driven by 31-year-old Cody Clausen of Schleswig.
State Police say the weather was foggy, and visibility was limited at the time of the crash.
