Celebration of Life Services: Will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in the Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Orient United Methodist Church. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. Dennis Gene Killion “Denny,” Fourth child of Dale and Marjorie “Marge” Killion was born on August 25, 1955, in Creston, Iowa He passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025 ,at his home with his family by his side.
Denny received his formal schooling at Orient Orient-Macksburg School graduating with the class of 1974. While in High School he participated in football and was a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA).
While A member of FFA Denny raised Purebred Duroc Hogs, selling breeding stock to area farmers. He used those funds to attend college at Iowa State University for one year before returning to farm with his dad. In 1988, Dennis attended DMACC majoring in Agriculture Business.
Denny found joy in the simple pleasures of life, walking the land, spending time with his faithful dog which showed up one day and they became best friends. He enjoyed farm life and working with livestock. As a member of the Orient Bulldogs 4H club and O-M FFA he competed at several fairs earning numerous awards and ribbons. After the chores were done Denny would often take the kids to the dairy queen and then go fishing. He enjoyed hunting preferring to go alone, sighting in and practicing with his rifles, compound bows and crossbows.
After attending Iowa State he was a Cyclone fan but dad changed him to becoming a devoted Hawkeye. Denny loved photography, capturing those special moments to remember and watch classic western movies.
Denny had several jobs, Working for Killion Farms, Farmers Cooperative Greenfield applying chemicals and Fertilizer to area farms, Crestland Bean Plant Creston as a supervisor and Part Time with Agriland Farm Service Orient as a delivery driver. Denny was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Marge Killion.
He is survived by his children, Marijo (Lawerance) Decker of Fairfax, Virginia and Mike (Stacy) Killion of Eschenbach, Germany and Mark Killion of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Kathy (Jarry) Wright of Des Moines, Iowa and Kristy (Ed) Miller of Creston, Iowa; brothers, Leroy Killion and Dick Killion of Orient, Iowa; grandchildren, Dylan and Mason Killion, Elijah, Hannah and Christina Decker; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
