(Audubon, IA) — The Wheelers took down the Heartland Christian Eagles without much trouble in the shutout victory on Monday night, but they should have their hands full against the competitive 16-15 Woodbine Tigers. Woodbine beat out the Griswold Tigers 3-1 in the first round. Audubon Head Coach Molly Lange credits their blocking:
Both teams play similar schedules but have not seen each other yet this season. Freshman Vanessa Blum leads Woodbine in kills with 199, followed closely behind by senior Isabell Crook with 197. They’re assisted by Hannah Wendt who will more than likely reach 500 assists on the season season during the contest.
Audubon finished the regular season with a record of 14-17 in the tough Western Iowa Conference where a large amount of their competition is either 2A or 3A. Lange says this primed the team for the 1A postseason:
The winner of tonight’s match will face the winner of St. Albert and Exira-EHK. First set is at 7:00 with coverage on KS 95.7.
