(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW’s cross country team has low numbers coming into the season. The girls have six healthy runners to start with and Head Coach Jackson Renberg hopes that Makenna Paulsen will heal up and become runner number seven. The boys side is as thin as it gets — just one. And he is a newcomer. Senior Tye Nelson came out for the sport this year and Renberg likes his attitude
On the girls side, Ava Paulsen had the top finish for the Lady Vikes in an early-bird meet at Shenandoah — she finished 27th but Renberg says she feels like she has room to improve
After Paulsen and Brockhoff, its Junior Tayli Lawler, Junior Yana Lander, Freshman Kenzie Behrens who is dual sporting with volleyball and Sophomore Lenora Hall.
In terms of team goals, Rendorf is going to take it one meet at a time
AHSTW will be back on the cross course at Logan Magnolia this Thursday.
