(Audubon, IA) — At Tuesday’s school board meeting, Audubon Pre K Principal Sam Graeve talked about the recent Proficiency test results for the district. In Math, grades 8 through 11 are all above 71 percent with Grade 11 at 95 percent proficient. 10th grade and 11th grade both jumped up from last year. Grade 5 was 97 percent efficient for the high mark while Grades 6 and 7 were at 66 and 67 percent. Graeve says that they are using a new method of teaching mathematics
English had a better percentage of passing than math — every grade in the Audubon school system is at 74 percent or better and every grade from 4 and up are 80 percent or better. Graeve says he was surprised that Grade 3 was the lowest but he says students in every grade are getting the attention they need
There was also a proficiency test in Science for three different grades — Grade 5 was 80 percent proficient, Grade 8 was 94 percent and Grade 10 was only 66 percent. The last day of school for Audubon will be this Friday.
